whew

Ughhh lately things have been hard for me. Last Sunday the 21st Hannah got a new tooth and learned how to sit up by herself. Over the course of the week she is now crawling and has her fourth tooth coming in. Its amazing and wonderful all at the same time! But the other night I was watching her go after something she knew she wasn't supposed to have and and it hitme. Hannah has been sitting for months, but now she can sit herself up, and she's crawling and pulling up on things, all in the course of the last week! I am so proud of her! But then it filled me with sadness, Hannah went from sationary to mobile in a week basically and Sarah Grace still isn't sitting. She is so close but has been working so hard and so long to get there. And I then thought about how long is it going to take her to learn to sit up by herself, crawl, pull up on things?! Then a friend of mine who has a little boy mentioned that her boys first birthday is in one month. And she was sad that she doesn't think he will be able to do the traditional cake smash. Her little boy isnt self feeding and she doesnt think he could bring his hands to smash it let alone get any to his face. And I realized oh my goodness, theres no way Sarah Grace could either!  And while the thought did make me sad, I filled myself with resolve, we are starting practicing now! and with that we are going to be making or buying a lot of cupcakes over the next 2 months!!!

A few new milestones and advancements and other going ons....

Hannah is now reaching for people to pick her up.

Hannah has kicked the swaddle!

Mommy got a new iPad, but dear Hannah loves playing on it!

Hannah has been sick AGAIN! But the doctor put her on allergy meds and she is so much better!

Hannah got her first black eye. (On her daddy watch!)

Hannah crawls, meaning she goes after what ever she wants even if it means getting stuck.

Oh Sarah Grace, my little sweet pea!
She is the thinker of the pair!

She loves playing with the baby in the mirror!

Sarah Grace has recently mastered the pull string for toy milestone.

Sarah Grace may be a mommas girl, but she loves playing with her daddy!

With that I will move along to the girls 10 month photos.... Yes I know I am a week behind.. Reason, it is so hard to get them to do the same thing at the same time with out one screaming... normally Hannah.

8 Months Old & The Story of the Bow

My girls are 8 months old now. And it makes me both so happy and so sad all at the same time. It is unbelievable to me that they are so big. In the last month Hannah has learned to sit independently and she has learned to go backwards and I think I found the prefect incentive that gets her going forward... mommies cell phone and defenselesss Sarah Grace. Sarah Grace this month is amazing. It is like she's a flower that has all of a sudden blossomed. Or a caterpillar that has come out of her cocoon. It's amazing the baby that she has become. The little girl, the personality that has evolved. Mmmm I just want to squeeze her. Anyway so I took these photos a few days ago after the girls afternoon nap. I only took about 30 minutes to take them and it is so hard to pick which ones to show because they paint a picture. An amazing hilarious picture of what an afternoon with them is like.

This really does read like a story line...So here we go... PS no babies were harmed in the making of this skit for everyones enjoyment.

Sarah Grace waiting to start picture taking.

Hannah upon being laid beside Sarah Grace notices her hair bow and makes a bee line.

Hannah: Oh here let me kick you in the chest as I pull this out of your hair.

Hannah: Mmmm look what I got!

Sarah Grace: What mom! Hannah stole my bow!!!

Hannah: Yummmm, bows taste good.

Sarah Grace: Oh ok, Mom gave me a new bow. It has polka dots.

Hannah: Oh here let me take this bow over here.

Sarah Grace: Mom why is sister fascinated with eating my bow?

Sarah Grace: She is so weird, still chewing on that bow...

Hannah: What mom, I'm not hiding a bow in my left hand...

Hannah: Ok I'm going to take the bow and go this way now.

Hannah: Oh wait Sister is over here let me turn over and give her a kick in the head.

Sarah Grace: Really mom? She's like laying on my head and still that dang bow. Doesn't she know it's supposed to go in her hair? Oh wait she doesn't have any hair...

Sarah Grace: Oh look maybe I want that bow back?

Sarah Grace: Here give it back! I want my bow back.

Hannah: Girlfriend please, this is my bow!

Hannah: Here take that!

Sarah Grace: Oh maybe she's going to give it back after all.

Sarah Grace: Come here just move it this way.

 Hannah: Ha fooled you again!

 Sarah Grace: Oh well.

The Exersaucer

Sarah Grace will not bear any weight on her legs. We are trying different things to encourage her to bear weight and one of the things recommended by her physical therapist was to get an exersaucer and get her upright and her feet beneath her. So far she hates it. We don't leave her alone in it. We are always right there to encourage her and try to get her to engage with the toys on it. Her favorite activity in the exersaucer is to put her arms straight down either side and fling herself forward and back screaming. Well today we had good progress! She played. We played. I even held Hannah in my lap sitting infront of the exersaucer and she played with the toys as well as Sarah Grace. They played with the same toys. They interacted with the toys together.

It made me cry!

Sarah Grace is so happy to sit back and watch. She hasn't been interested in interacting with us or with toys. Lately, it's like she is coming out of her shell. She has always been happy to be held and be loved on. but now she smiles and lights up when you go to pick her up. She pushes against your chest so she can look up at you. She pats at your face and chest. She coos. She giggles. And she makes her mother extremely proud. I cried watching my two girls play together.

It's happy days like today that I am easily able to forget about developmental delays, probable tubes in ears, and heart surgery. My girls are amazing. And it makes me so happy to see lights going off in Sarah Grace. To see she is so smart.

She is my Super Star!

Way Behind

I know that I am way behind. And I'm not even going to attempt to catch up. But I will post some pages I made for the girls scrapbooks

(Sorry this one isn't finished)
